One notable detail from Valley Bank's acquisition of Bluevine: AI agents resolve roughly 80% of the inquiries that reach Bluevine's Customer Care Center.
AI across the business
Valley CEO Ira Robbins said on the acquisition call that most of Bluevine's code is now AI generated. He added that the team has built its own credit, fraud and AML models, all running on a single data layer that links core banking and payment systems. Opening a Bluevine account takes about five minutes.
Plenty of companies advertise their AI use. At Bluevine it also feeds a customer acquisition strategy built around the bank's pitch to small businesses: software packed into the account.
Bundling software into the account
Bluevine CEO Eyal Lifshitz described the approach on the same call. The account includes a growing set of tools, he said, such as bill pay, invoicing and accounting. A small business that would otherwise stitch together several SaaS products gets them integrated in one place.
The practical effect is a banking product that competes on convenience and breadth, with AI keeping support and development costs down.
