LendingTree's small business loan origination volume is up 40% from a year earlier, according to the company's latest quarterly earnings report.
Sales force investment
CEO Doug Lebda said the company made a strategic investment to grow its sales force in small business and that it has paid off with more business and more efficiency. He said small business can be a real growth driver for LendingTree.
Lebda added that profitability has grown consistently each quarter and said the company is "on a roll."
AI first
Part of that performance, the company says, comes from staying on top of AI. Lebda said he told the board and the company 18 months ago that LendingTree would become an AI-first company. Today, he said, effectively all employees use AI in their jobs, and the company has enterprise GPT for everyone.
