LendPathway, a New York-based fintech that automates underwriting for alternative lenders, said in March 2026 that 99.7% of the ledgers processed on its platform now reconcile correctly. The company checks each ledger against the document it was extracted from, confirming that transactions, balances and totals agree before any data moves downstream.

The numbers

Over the past few months, LendPathway cut its reconciliation failure rate from 9.7% to 1.9%. Average discrepancies fell from 2.8% to 0.3% of book volume.

The company's pitch is that many platforms pull bank statement data without checking that it adds up. A dropped or misread transaction then flows into revenue calculations, debt positions and credit decisions, and the underwriter has no way of knowing.

“If the math doesn’t add up, nothing downstream can be trusted,” cofounder Andrew Bisch said. He added that every ledger goes through multiple reconciliation passes and that discrepancies get surfaced rather than buried.

Why statements are hard to read

LendPathway points to the quirks of bank statements: formats differ by institution, transactions land in different sections, scanned pages get cut off, line items wrap across rows, and some statements report only daily totals. The company says its system was built around those problems and that it flags a discrepancy instead of rounding it away.
