Lexington Capital Holdings held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new commercial property and headquarters in Port Jefferson Station, Long Island, drawing hundreds of attendees including its 85 employees, their friends and families, and funding partners.
The site sits on three acres with private parking and 16,000 square feet of office space. Founder and CEO Frankie DiAntonio, who also runs Lexington Estates, opened the event outdoors by playing the National Anthem. Between a live DJ, a food truck and brokers working deals by phone in the parking lot, the scene drew the attention of local residents, including a representative from the town's chamber of commerce.
From a rough start to $15M a month
DiAntonio's speech traced his path as an entrepreneur, starting with an auto repair shop at 19, and credited his team for Lexington's growth over the four years since the small business finance marketplace launched. He said the first two years were difficult, with each day a fight to stay in business.
He gave these funding milestones:
- First deal funded in the company's second month
- $71,000 in the second month
- $193,000 in the third month
- $400,000 in the fourth month
- Today, no less than $15 million every month to small and mid-sized businesses nationwide
DiAntonio thanked his sister Nicollete and longtime friends who now serve as key operators. COO Frank Lewando described the new building as the start of a new direction for the company.
Inside the building
Lexington is organized into departments, including separate sales rooms for SBA lending and its new real estate business, Lexington Estates. The average employee, the reporter observed, looked to be in their mid-20s, and several told the reporter that working there was the best thing that had happened to them. DiAntonio cut the ribbon and was handed a giant gold key and a certificate.
