- 1Parafin has originated $3 billion since it began lending in 2021.
- 2It powers financing for DoorDash, Amazon, Gusto, SpotOn, Fullsteam, Jobber and others.
- 3Only QuickBooks Capital, Shopify Capital, OnDeck and Square Loans would stay significantly larger.
Stripe's acquisition of Parafin disclosed a figure the market had not seen before: Parafin has originated $3 billion since it started lending in 2021.
Parafin supplies financing infrastructure to platforms including DoorDash, Amazon, Gusto, SpotOn, Fullsteam, Jobber and dozens of others. On a normal growth curve, it likely passed $1 billion in originations over the past 12 months. That would put it roughly level with Stripe's own lending arm. A previous estimate put Stripe Capital's 2025 originations at $1 billion.
Where the combined business would rank
Once the deal closes and Stripe Capital merges with Parafin, the result would sit among the largest online small business lenders in the country. Among the companies tracked in those rankings, only QuickBooks Capital, Shopify Capital, OnDeck and Square Loans would remain significantly bigger.
