Intuit's QuickBooks Capital originated about $1.7 billion in small business loans in the third quarter of fiscal 2026, bringing the trailing nine-month total through April 30 to $4.3 billion.
Lending products
On the earnings call, CEO Sasan Goodarzi said the company is growing its line of credit offerings, with buy now, pay later embedded directly in QuickBooks, and has launched an Intuit business credit card.
The AI question
As with other software companies, analysts have questioned whether AI threatens Intuit's product. As in the prior quarter, Goodarzi rebutted that, arguing Intuit is effectively the AI solution customers will want. Businesses use large language models for searches and queries, he said, but cannot run on them, because managing books, money and payroll demands accuracy and compliance and is mission critical. He said businesses and their accountants need Intuit to be their AI platform. He cited Anthropic and OpenAI as partners the company already works with.
Goodarzi added that winning customers is not necessarily about having the best software but about the confidence that assistance gives the customer. With its integrations, reputation, AI capabilities and ability to help customers, he said, Intuit is structurally advantaged.
