On February 23, 2026, CAN Capital said it had bought the equipment finance portfolio and platform of Republic Bank Finance, which is part of Republic Bancorp, Inc. (NYSE: RBCAA) of Lexington, Kentucky. CAN, based in Atlanta, said the deal strengthens its position as a diversified specialty finance company.
What CAN gets
The acquisition adds an established equipment finance portfolio and operating platform to CAN's suite of working capital products. CAN said it will use its technology, national footprint, data and underwriting capabilities and partner ecosystem to scale the platform for customers, brokers and strategic partners.
The company said the addition lets it deepen relationships with existing customers and reach new borrowers who want equipment-backed financing.
Management's view
CEO Ed Siciliano called the deal “a natural extension of CAN Capital’s long-term growth strategy.” He said CAN has built a scaled, durable platform that can grow organically and through acquisitions, and that equipment finance broadens its products and market position.
