Intuit's QuickBooks Capital originated $1.3B in business loans to its customers in fiscal Q2 2026, the same figure as the previous quarter. At that pace it is on track to pass yet another rival, Shopify Capital, on originations in 2026.
Funding from a button
QuickBooks users see a button in the software to request funding. Intuit CFO Sandeep Singh Aujla said on the latest quarterly earnings call that the company is shifting the conversation from a sales pitch to meeting a customer need. His example: a customer has payroll due tomorrow but an invoice that will not be paid until next week. With one click they can access Capital loans, payroll is covered, and when the customer pays the invoice the next week the agent automatically pays down the debt.
The LLM question
An analyst raised concerns about Intuit's partnership with LLMs. The company replied that there is nothing to worry about because its data is not shared with them.
“Our moat comes from being the core of the flow of funds,” Aujla said, citing access to capital, hours worked by employees and money flow as areas LLMs are not touching.
